Baladi News – Daraa (Muhannad al-Horani)
The formations of the Free Syrian Army (FSA) in the northern and southern parts of Syria issued a consolidated statement refusing and condemning the Israeli incursion inside the areas located in the Syrian part according to international conventions. The statement called upon the Arab League to condemn this blatant Israeli aggression and the Security Council to immediately intervene and take the appropriate steps to deter the Israeli occupation from committing such violations.
The statement emphasized the Arabic and Syrian identity of the Golan and that the waiver of the Syrian regime of the state’s sovereignty and the surrender of the Golan to Israel will not dissuade Syrians from regaining it using legitimate tools in accordance with the charter of the United Nations.
Activists from Busra al-Sham city in Daraa eastern countryside raised banners in the Roman amphitheater of the historical castle denouncing the Israeli incursion in the Syrian territories. The demonstrators called upon the southern front in the Free Syrian Army and the UN to achieve their duties in counteracting this blatant aggression by the Israeli occupation against the Syrian territories.
One of the protesters said to Baladi News, “What we have done is the least that we can do. The previous negligence of the rebels’ factions of the Israeli intervention inside the Syrian territories will not be ignored by citizens revolting against injustice either by Assad or Israel.”
The Israeli violation is not the first of its kind inside Syria. The Israeli occupation forces stormed al-Shahar camp, neighboring the occupied Golan, in June 2015, swept the camps, and expelled the citizens who escaped from the oppression of the regime forces that targeted the towns of Jubata al-Khashab near the camp with heavy artillery and barrel bombs.
The Israeli violations seem to be repeated since the beginning of 20015, when the UN forces, which used to oversee the ceasefire line, withdrew, which allowed the occupation forces to move under no international monitoring under the pretext of safeguarding its northern borders, which have not been under any significant threat from the Syrian territories.
